Helping Dogs North of the 56th Parallel

We take in strays from our local communities

Northern Manitoba has a large stray dog population because of the lack of equitable veterinary care. We work with the communities around us and take in unwanted dogs into our care and find them loving homes or send them to other rescue organizations who do the same.

We Adopt Dogs Within the North

Since we live in such an isoalted place, we only adopt dogs within Gillam and it's surrounding communities. However we send lots of dogs down to other rescue groups in the Winnipeg area.

We Provide Food and Shelter to Dogs in Need

We provide food, dog houses, collars, leashes and essential medicine to dogs who otherwise might not have access to these basic necessities.

We Bring Vet Clinics to Our Communities

We work with veterinarians to bring mobile vet clinics up to the communities we work with to provide spays and neuters, vaccinations and de-wormer.

We Do Spay/Neuter and Returns

We help owned animals gain access to veterinary care by sending them to our Veterinary Partners in Winnipeg. We couldn't do this without help from our amazing Winnipeg Foster Team <3

We advocate for the Indigenous Communities we work with

It is important to us to work alongside and support the Indigenous Communities we work with and embrace the spirit of reconciliation, education and re-Indigenization. It is important to us to operate with informed consent and collaboration with Chief and Council and animal's owners.
